Use Case 1:
Integrated and Holistic EV Digital Twin
Next-generation electric vehicles face three key challenges: reducing energy consumption, lowering production costs, and enhancing the driver experience.
1.
Reducing energy consumption
2.
Lowering production costs
3.
Enhancing driver experience
While Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs) offer new opportunities through cloud connectivity and real-time data, current systems remain limited:
- Battery Management Systems (BMS) are static and do not adapt to battery aging
- Heat pumps optimize comfort but ignore powertrain performance and real driving conditions

Approach
TWIN-LOOP is developing a Digital Twin system based on an open framework called MyEV DT, combining in-vehicle and cloud-based components.
This hybrid architecture enables advanced energy and performance management features.
Initially specified in Task T3.1 and implemented in T3.3, the framework integrates key applications from WP2.
A fully functional Digital Twin will be assembled in T3.4 and validated in WP5 in terms of energy efficiency and user acceptance.
Expected Outcomes
A pilot-tested, user-approved Digital Twin for EVs, delivering improved energy efficiency and enhanced user experience through real-time, adaptive functionality.
